Percy Pope Stubblefield, age 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday January 7, 2016 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on July 14, 1928 in Roseland, Indiana to the late Percy and Dorothy (Leatherman) Stubblefield. Percy was a veteran serving with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He spent his career with the Department of Corrections as a Maintenance Supervisor. He moved to Sebring in 2005 and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. Percy collected model cars, enjoyed fishing and he loved reading his Bible and being active in his church. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. Survivors include his wife Ophelia P. Stubblefield-Sebring, FL, children, Paul Stubblefield-Bradenton, FL; Larry Hardcastle (Michelle)-Frostproof, FL; Susie Baley-Bradenton, FL; Taimi Moriorty-RI; Kathleen Dewsnap (Allen)-RI, sisters, Joann Barbar-AK; Mary Cordan-IN, fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., Southside Baptist Church, Sebring, FL with Pastor David Altman officiating.
