Paula A Penney-Eckiss

Paula A. Penney-Eckiss, age 85, of Sebring Florida, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Lake Placid Health Care Center. She was born on May 12, 1928, to Eustace and Elaine (Ferreira) Neave in British Guiana, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2001, coming from Columbia, Maryland. She was employed as a U.S. Park Service Supervisor by the Federal Government and attended the Buttonwood Bay Church. She loved to travel, was an avid reader; Master Gardener; an artist in both painting and stained glass art and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She is survived by her husband, Ray Eckiss; children, Adina Penney of Fairfax, VA and Teri (Penney) Arch and her husband Craig of the Cayman Islands; grandchildren, David Arch; Michelle (Arch) Hydes and her husband Mike and Chip Arch; and great-grandchildren, Max Hydes and Malia Hydes. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Neave and sisters, Barbara Conner and Joan Quattrone. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, with Rev. Cecil Hess officiating. The family received friends the hour preceding the service. Interment was held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park immediately following the service.
