Patricia Ann Williams

January 24, 1934 — September 25, 2022

Sebring

Patricia Ann McLeod Williams passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022, in Sebring, Florida, with her children by her side. She was known affectionately by friends and family as Pat, P.A. and Nana. Pat was born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 24, 1934, to Margaret Donaldson and Kenneth McLeod. Her mother passed when she was 9, and her father was in the Navy so Pat moved to Freeport, Long Island, to be raised by her maternal grandparents. Her grandparents had a small cabin on Torsey Pond which began her lifelong love of Maine. Pat graduated from Freeport High School in 1951 and Berkeley Secretarial School in New York City in 1952. She was employed by Manhattan Life Insurance company early in her career and it was then that she met her future husband.

Patricia married Bill Williams in Readfield, Maine, in 1953 and together they had a son, Scott McLeod, in 1962, and a daughter, Kristen Patricia, in 1969. The family finally moved to Kents Hill in 1978 where she was employed at Maine Bankers’ Association in Augusta. In Maine, Patricia was a member of the Torsey United Methodist Church where she served on the Global Concerns Committee, was a founding board member of the Torsey Pond Association, and a member of the Crystal Club of Kents Hill. In 1994, Patricia and Bill retired to Sun n’ Lake of Sebring, Florida, with several lifelong friends. She was a skilled bridge player who organized a weekly bridge club and who played several times each week. In 2020, Patricia moved into the Fellowship Home of Sebring where she enjoyed daily fitness, BINGO, and the care of a truly kind and compassionate staff. Predeceased by her husband in 2006, Pat leaves her children and grandchildren: Jordan, Joshua, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Tori and Nicole, and her great granddaughter Isla.

Throughout her life Pat was known to many as “smiley” and will be remembered as a positive, optimistic spirit who cherished her summers on Torsey Pond. She loved to share stories about the six generations of family who summered at “camp” in Mt. Vernon. Those who knew her best also knew about her love of Hersey’s chocolate and her motto “Life is short, eat dessert first!”  She will be greatly missed by family and friends as she reunites with her beloved Bill, her parents and grandparents. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Torsey Pond Association, 16 Columbine Lane, Mt. Vernon, Maine, 04352
