Patricia (Pattie) Weaver Cox

Patricia Weaver Cox, age 83, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at her home in Sebring surrounded by her family. She was born on February 24, 1931 in Sebring, Florida to the late Elton and Esther M. (Sunny) Saunders Weaver. Pattie was a lifelong resident of Sebring. She married Wallace P. Cox and together they raised their four children. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sebring where she was a Sunday school teacher. Pattie was a member of the Readers Club since 1997 and was the founder of The Lunch Bunch. She will be remembered for all the lives she touched. She is survived by her husband, Wallace P. Cox of Sebring, FL, her children, Wally P. Cox (Tricia); Debra C. Hafford (John); Gordon E. Cox (Cheryl); and C. Mark Cox, all of Sebring, FL, her siblings, Sandra Handley (Jack) of Sebring, FL and Charles (Chuck) Weaver (Barbara) of Lakeland, FL, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Pattie was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Ila Cox and her granddaughter, Kinsley Cox. There will be a funeral service on Friday, January 30, 2015, 11:00am, at First United Methodist Church of Sebring with Reverend David Juliano; Reverend Charles Weaver and Reverend Sterling Forrester officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 9:30am prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Pattie's memory to the Ila and Kinsley Cox Memorial Fund, payable to Champion for Children Foundation of Highlands County, Inc. or First United Methodist Church building fund.
