Patricia S. Scott

Patricia S. Scott, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Sebring, Florida with her local family at her side.  Pat was born on July 8, 1930 in Fort Sheridan, Illinois to Herbert and Louise Spees.  Her early years were spent as the daughter of a career military officer, USAF, most memorable in post war occupied Germany. At 19, she married a 19 year old Coast Guard Sailor, John W. Scott at Hampton, VA, two children, John Jr. and Patrick Scott became the focus of her life. Upon retirement from 28 years with the Coast Guard, Pat and John moved to Leisure City, Florida. In 2003 Pat and John moved to Crystal Lake in Avon Park. She was active with the Sebring Woman’s Club, Red Hats, and the Moose Club, and she enjoyed sewing. Both sons retired from the Coast Guard. Oldest son, John and his wife, Judy were with mom for her final years. Always the sharpest tack in the room, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2013.  A private memorial service is being held. Survivors include two sons, John W. Scott, Jr. (Judith M.) of Sebring, FL; Patrick C. Scott (Samantha) of Red Bluff, CA, one grandchild, Patricia Jennifer, two great-grandchildren and one special niece, who was raised by John and Patricia, Katie Carole Callaway of Jacksonville, FL.
