Patricia Edna Waters Noga
Born January 28, 1926 – Died August 6, 2018
Patricia Edna Noga passed away on August 6, 2018, at the Kenilworth Care and Rehabilitation Center in Sebring.
Born January 28, 1926, she was the fifth of nine children to Stephen J. and Rose M. (nee Yarman) Waters of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Waters family moved to Coral Gables, Florida, when Pat was in eighth grade. Pat graduated from Ponce de Leon Senior High School in 1944.
After high school Pat worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company from 1944 until her retirement in 1987.
In Miami Pat met Chester M. “Chuck” Noga. They married in October 1948 and settled in Coral Gables. Together they raised three daughters: Rosemary, Nancy, and Susan. The Noga family lived near the extended Waters clan and enjoyed many celebrations with the growing family.
Pat was active at Wesley United Methodist Church in Miami. After her retirement she and Chuck devoted themselves to volunteering at South Miami Hospital.
In 2001 Pat and Chuck relocated to Sebring where they got involved at St. John United Methodist Church and volunteered at Florida Hospital. Chuck passed away in July 2003.
Kenilworth Care and Rehabilitation Center became Pat’s home in January, 2017, and the Kenilworth staff became a second family for Pat. Staff and residents appreciated her beautiful smile, loving spirit, delightful sense of humor, and trademark red shoes. A special thank you to the team from Compassionate Care Hospice who cared for Pat in her last weeks of life and supported her family as we said goodbye.
Friends and family remember Pat’s sparkling green eyes, easy laugh, wit, kindness, faithfulness, and love. A picture of graceful aging, she delighted in her children and four grandchildren and drew immense pride from knowing she had 10 great-grandchildren. She loved life’s simple pleasures like sitting outside, spending time with her family, and potato chips.
Pat is survived by her three children: Rosemary Welton (David) of Miami, Nancy Smith (James) of Butler, Pa., Susan Morales (Tony) of Sebring; four grandchildren: Andrew Smith (Carly) of Annandale, Va., Megan Fowler (Lindon) of Grove City, Pa., Katherine Bokor (Craig) of Aliquippa, Pa., and Nathan Smith of Butler, Pa.; and ten great-grandchildren: Wesley and Harvey Smith; Levi, Shields Lee and Reeves Fowler; Avery, Emery, Piper, Pacey, and Lincoln Bokor.
She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck, parents, and siblings.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Pat’s life on August 24 at the Kenilworth Care and Rehabilitation Center in Sebring.
