Patricia "Pat" E Hammes

Patricia “Pat” Elizabeth Hammes passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16th, 2024, at the Sommers Hospice House in Sebring, Florida, at the age of 82. Pat was a beloved wife, mother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Pat is survived by her husband of 13 years, John Hammes of Sebring, Florida, and her loving children: Sheryl Scott of New York, Chris Gallo of Columbia, and Paul Gallo (Helene) of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen Topping.

On Friday, September 12th, 1941, Robert and Helen Topping of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, warmly welcomed her into the world. Pat grew up as a cherished only child in Broward County and later moved to San Fransisco, CA, Morristown, TN, and Sebring, FL.

She was often found photographing her family and capturing many precious moments. In the 1980s, Pat achieved a significant milestone by owning a mortgage company. Her passions for real estate, interior decorating, and raising standard poodles influenced her life. One of her most memorable projects was transforming a bed and breakfast into her beautiful family home. Pat's exceptional decorating skills were evident throughout the house, and that love extended outdoors to creating a koi pond and planting bamboo trees in the backyard. Pat was known as a loving, people-oriented and animal loving person who always kept busy rescuing cats in the local Sebring neighborhood. Her friends and family will remember her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to their lives.
