Oscar Raymond Fletcher

Oscar Raymond Fletcher, age 93, of Sebring, Florida passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in Sebring. Born August 7, 1927, he was the son of the late William Franklin Fletcher and Gertrude Winemiller Fletcher. He was born in Harford County, Maryland and prior to retiring was employed by the Department of Highways for Harford County Government. He attended Southside Baptist Church in Sebring. He enjoyed camping with his wife, gardening vegetables and flowers, and mowing lawns for others in his community in Sebring up until a year ago. He loved being out in the Florida sun. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, K. Louise Fletcher. He is survived by his three daughters, Linda L. Beavers of Pylesville, MD, Sharon A. Stifler, husband E. Michael of Sebring, FL, and Barbara L. Gahler, husband Marty of Port Charles, FL. He was Pop to four grandchildren, Teresa L. O’Sullivan, husband James of Pylesville, MD, Jason L. Vanover, wife Brittany of Northeast, MD, Jeremy M. Vanover and fiancé Rachel Raspe of Pylesville, MD and Amanda G. Sullivan, husband Michael of Port Charlotte, FL. Seven great grandchildren, Caitlyn R. and Lauren D. O’Sullivan, Landon M. Vanover, Kailyn R. Harris, Isla Jo and Aaron L. Vanover and Raelynn M. Vanover. Also preceded in death by his wife of 5 years, Edna Hester Fletcher. Survived by her children, Brenda Pugh, husband Virril, Jane Berrier, husband Paul, David Hester, wife Betty and Bonnie Fulk, husband Roger, all of Lexington, NC. He leaves a sister, Helen Slade of Street, MD and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers, Evan M, Irvin F, Ralph N, and Rush E. Fletcher. He will be returned to Maryland to be buried with his wife at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Pylesville, MD.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The International 22q11.2 Foundation, PO Box 532, Matawan, NJ 07747.
