Norman Franklin Merritt

Norman Franklin Merritt, 82, peacefully passed away on Tuesday December 8, 2020 in Sebring, FL. He was born August 19, 1938 in New Castle, IN, to Franklin Merritt and Margaret (Koontz) Merritt. He formerly lived in Zephyrhills, FL having moved to Sebring in 2018. Norman was of Christian faith and had worked as a service manager in the automotive industry. Norman was a Freemason who enjoyed remolding old houses, visiting with friends, going out to eat, and riding his doggy companion Dilly around the neighborhood on his bicycle. He loved his family immensely and enjoyed the times he could spend with them. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years – Marlene; children, Rita Eastman (Scott) of Washington; Steve Merritt (Jen) of Indiana; Scott Merritt (Amy) of South Carolina; Sam Merritt (Jennifer) of Sebring, FL; Christina Stearns (Jesse) of Indiana. Surviving are also ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law, Willis and Phyllis Lewis of Lake Placid, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Margaret Merritt and a daughter Renee Merritt.
