Norman A. Cukras

Norman A. Cukras, age 84, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016. He was born on September 16, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Chester and Emily (Hank) Cukras.  Norman was a veteran serving with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He spent his career in the Automotive Industry as an Engineer. Norman was a Master Judge for the Kansas City BBQ and Florida BBQ Associations. He worked as a columnist for the News Sun and Highlands Today for twelve years. He also collected Lionel Train sets.  He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Sebring. Norman was loved and will be dearly missed.  He is survived by his wife Ruth P. Cukras of Sebring, FL; daughters Sharon J. Cukras (John Smyntek) of Rochester, MI and Gail M. Cushing of Sebring, FL; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  There will be a Memorial Mass on Thursday, October 27, 2016, 3:00 pm, at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Jose Gonzalez officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 2:00 pm.
