NELSON STANLEY HILL HILL, Nelson Stanley, 92, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 25, 2013, after suffering a massive stroke. He was born in Felton, Delaware on November 24, 1920. He was a proud veteran, serving his country during World War II in Troop B, 16th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron in Europe. He was honorably discharged in October, 1945. He and his loving wife of 67 years, Thelma Decker Hill, were married in Belmont Methodist Church, Nashville, Tennessee on August 18, 1946 and made their home in Delaware until they moved to Sebring, FL in 1972. He was an avid fisherman all his life and at 92 was still fishing. He was a member of Highlands Bass Club and a lifetime member of Bassmasters Club. His picture appeared in the Bassmaster magazine as a member of the Lunker Club holding the 12 ½ pound bass he caught. He loved gardening and enjoyed hunting and other sports, but fishing was his favorite hobby. He attended church services in the chapel at Fairway Pines Assisted Living where he lived. In Delaware he owned a meat and grocery store and later a trucking business. In Florida, he worked with Coca Cola Company and, after retiring, with Sebring Packing Company. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Decker Hill; daughter & son-in-law, Helen Hill Bogus and Paul Bogus; two grandchildren, Melanie Bogus Collins and Ryan Bogus and Kristy Smith; three great-grandchildren, Bridgette, Zach and Alex Collins. Extended family survivors are Andy Bogus, Tamiza Teja, Dell Decker, Josh, Laura, Cambria and Rhyley Bogus. Surviving family in Kentucky (including four generations of nieces and nephews) are Connie, Sandy and Katie Hardesty, Rose Mary Dunn, Becky and Savannah Shouldice, Mike, Max, Mark, Curtis, Chris and Craig Decker, Joshua Daugherty, Christy Gidcomb, Leslie Benham, Gina Stewart, Bethany, Chieann and Nikki Decker. He is also survived by many wonderful friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL 33870, (863) 385-0125. Viewing will be from 12:30 until 1:30 and the funeral will begin at 1:30 p.m. A Reception will follow the funeral at Sunridge Baptist Church, 3704 Valerie Boulevard, Sebring, FL 33870.
