Neal Thomas Ruonavar

Neal Ruonavar, age 86, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 in Sebring, Florida.  He was born on June 30, 1937, in Detroit Michigan, the son of Elmer and Alice (Thomas) Ruonavar.  Neal was a born again Christian who loved reading his bible.  He liked discussing his knowledge of the bible with others and was proud of his extensive library of theology books.

Neal’s profession was a dedicated Saw Mill Manager for many years, known for his hard work and integrity in the lumber industry. He was a resident of Sebring since 2001, coming from Nevada.

Neal was the loving husband of Barbara A Ruonavar and the proud father of Julienne Hammond of Edmond, OK; Kelli Klein of Royse City, TX; and Kathi Pfeifle of Billings, MT, he was stepfather to Gabor Toth of Richland, WA; Nancy Steele of Lancaster, MA, and Scott Steele of Loxahatchee, FL.  In addition to his wife and children, Neal is survived by his siblings Deana Campeau; Dean Ruonavar; Donita LaJoie; and Fred Ruonavar. He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Sadly, Neal was preceded in death by his son, Timothy M Ruonavar, brother Clyde Ruonavar and sister Nancy Hart who he now joins in eternal peace.

Neal's life was marked by his unwavering sense of humor and love for cracking jokes which brought smiles to those around him. Neal was also known for his love of golf, being an avid reader, volunteering for several organizations through the years, listening to music and watching his big T.V.

Neal Ruonavar will be remembered for his quick wit, his love for his dogs, and above all, his love and dedication to his wife. May his legacy of laughter, love, and kindness live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
