Myrtle Irene Stoddard

Myrtle Irene Stoddard, 91, of Avon Park, Florida, formerly of Hartford, peacefully passed away at the home of her daughter on October 13, 2014. Myrt was born on February 25, 1923 in Toppenish Washington to William and Myrtle (Stroud) Ray. She was the fourth of six siblings all of whom preceded her in death. The family moved to Michigan where Myrt married the love of her life Clinton (Chink) Stoddard. They had been married for 70 years when Clinton passed away. Together they lived their lives to the fullest and enriched the lives of so many others along the way. Myrt was full of compassion and unconditional love. She always put others needs above her own no matter what she herself was going through. Myrt is survived by her children, William (Nancy); Judith (Ed) Downer and Richard (Jan). Six grandchildren: Terri; Sandi; Jerry (Christin); Jennifer; Stephanie and Mathew. She also leaves behind two most precious great-grandchildren: Donovan and Gabby as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. In addition to Clinton, her beloved sister Mary Sweet, brother Earl Ray and grandson Jeffrey (Heather) Stoddard precede her in death. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
