Myrtle F. Black, age 103, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on March 22, 1913 in Coronaca, South Carolina to the late Mark Y. and Ruth (Pulliam) Fooshe’. Myrtle was a professional ballroom dancer, winning many national competitions while dancing with the Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray Studios. She spent her professional career with the U.S. Post Office and IRS. Myrtle retired to Sebring in 1980 from Miami, where she was a member of Bryan Memorial Methodist Church in Coconut Grove. Survivors include her son: Mark Douglass Black Sr. and his children: Debbie Licata (Rich), Michael Black and their mother: Anita Black; grand-daughter: Jeffrey Gay (Jimmy); and Grandson David Black (Jean), and their mother; Kay Black; also, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband: James C. Black, Sr., son: James C. Black, Jr. and grandson: Mark D. Black, Jr. There will be a memorial service on December 27, 2016, 12:00pm, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home with Reverend Ronald DeGenaro, Jr. officiating.
