Mozelle D. Arnold

December 13, 1912 — August 31, 2011

Mozelle D. Arnold of Tallahassee, Fl., passed away on August 31, 2011, with her children by her side. She was born December 13, 1912 in Statesboro, Georgia and grew up as a farm girl until she moved to Florida in 1929. She was an Avon Park resident from 1949 to 2005 when she moved to Crestview, Florida, to live with her son, Charles. From 2007 until her death, she was in Tallahassee, Florida, with her daughters. Mrs. Arnold was employed with Wells Motor Co. in Avon Park for 26 years and retired in 1978 as Office Manager. She was active in the First Baptist Church for 54 years and, for many of those years she was a Sunday School teacher for 3 yr. olds and 13 yr olds. She administered the Home Bound Program for several years. Her family and friends valued her wise, gentle advice and countenance. She was deeply loved and respected as a mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother. Mrs. Arnold had an unwavering faith in God and her everyday life illustrated that faith as an example to all who knew her. She retained a sense of humor throughout her life, often surprising her family and friends with her witticism. Ms. Arnold enjoyed backyard gardening when she retired, along with having more time to visit her children and grandchildren. She was, and is, famous for her "cathead" biscuits. Her greatest attribute was her total commitment to family and she was always a mother first. Mrs. Arnold is preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters, as well as sons Danny Arnold and Donald Arnold and daughter Carolyn Arnold Lewis. She is survived by daughters Bobbie Arnold Glover (Henry) and Patricia Arnold of Tallahassee, and a son Charles Arnold (Frances) of Crestview, Fl.
