Mildred Ward Carpenter

Mildred Ward Carpenter, age 92 passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 in Lake Wales, Florida. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Eufaula, Alabama on December 1, 1920 to Robert E. and Dessie (Ray) Ward. She was a Dietary Aide, member of Florida Avenue Baptist Church and had been a resident of Avon Park for 50 years coming from Eufaula, Alabama. She is survived by her daughter-Marilyn Heim (Roger) of Lake Wales, Florida; sisters-Anne Michie, Helen Saliba, Sarah Schultz and Robbie Thomas; grandchildren-Neosha Robertson and Misha Robertson Hancock; great grandchildren-Layla Travis and Laney Hancock; many nieces and nephews and a great niece-Alice McGuire. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 22 years-John C. Carpenter, a brother-Bob Ward and a sister-Evelyn Blackburn. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Clint Love officiating.
