Michael “Mike” Lee Zimmerman, age 70, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 in Sebring, FL. He was born on October 6, 1951 in Tipton, IN to Melvin Louis Zimmerman Sr. and Evelyn R. Fox (Lightfoot) Zimmerman. He married Guyla Humphreys on September 16, 1972. He  worked as a manager in the fiberglass industry, attended First Baptist Church in Elkhart, IN, proudly served his country in the US National Guard, and has been a resident of Sebring since 2019, coming from Elkhart, IN. Mike enjoyed fishing, watching IU basketball, and loved hot rods. He also enjoyed when his family and friends would visit, and loved golf cart rides with the kids. You could always catch him making a joke, and he had an infectious laugh. He loved the Lord, and was a strong Christian who loved his family, life and people. He is survived by his loving wife Guyla; daughter, Miranda (Travis) Hershberger of South Bend, IN;  brothers Steven Zimmerman of Tipton, IN;  Melvin Zimmerman  Jr. of Pulaski, WI Surviving are also 2 grandchildren, Shiloh and Stockton Hershberger. He was preceded in death by his parents and step father Francis Fox. He left behind many caring and loving friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Indiana at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be mailed to: IU Athletic  Foundation
