Michael "Mike" H. Oligney, 80, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, Florida after a long battle with cancer. Mike was born in 1942 in Northwest Michigan. He and his wife, Kay, retired to Fort Meade, Florida in 2019. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force serving in the 551 st AEW and CWG until 1968. As a computer engineer, Mike held various positions retiring from Lowell Area Schools in 2008. He loved golf, travel, motorcycles, his grandchildren, and Florida weather. Mike was a member of American Legion Post 3 in Bartow, Florida, and a regular attendee of the Fort Meade United Methodist Church. Mike was preceded in death by his parents – Howard and Cleo (Brigham) Oligney; his siblings – Kenneth Oligney, Beverly Martin, Ethelyn Sandelius, Alvera Joann Gilbert; his daughter – Melissa Roudabush; grandson – Logan Roudabush; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mike is survived by his wife – Kay Oligney; children – Dahlia (Dean) Stevens, Warren (Brandi) Oligney, Douglas Oligney, Laurie (Dave) Nozal, Jody (Dave) Yount, Patrick (Melissa) Verner, Corey (Joy) Hineline, Justin (Erica) Peterson; 22 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. As Mike requested, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held both in Florida and in Michigan at a future date.
