Mersel Olivine Markman

Mersel Olivine Markman, age 94, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on February 4, 2023 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on January 26, 1929 to Jonathan and Ivy Mary (Louise) Campbell in Westmoreland, Jamaica. Mersel was married to Stanley E. Markman from August 20, 1952 to November 23, 1980. They had 5 Children together – Pauline, Michael, Marilyn, Charles, and John. In 2014, Mersel moved to Sebring, Florida and has been a resident ever since. She worked in the agriculture industry and attended the Living Waters Church of God.

Mersel is preceded in death by her Parents; 5 Brothers; and 5 Sisters. She is survived by her Children – Pauline (Gordon), Michael (Isabel), Marilyn (Irwin), Charles Markman (Carlin), and John (Debbie); 15 Grandchildren – John, Matthew, Kathryn, Bruce, Simeon, Paul, Nicole, Beverly, Elizabeth, Ryan, Kaden, Richard, Wayne, Omecia, and Kiandra; 20 Great-Grandchildren – Jonathan, Denis, Trevor, Catalina, Benjamin-Lee, Gordon, Jenel, Leo, Gabriella, Liam, Harper, Saydi, Dante, Shiante, Divante, Sebastian, Hristina, Vyara, Illancho, and Dimitri; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild – Emillie; Sisters – Pearl Lamb and Avis Johnson; numerous Nephews, Nieces, family members, and loved ones.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring at 2:00 pm, with family receiving friends beginning at 1:00 pm. Pastor Brandon Roberts will be officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens (854 Memorial Drive, Avon Park, FL 33825).
