Melvin George Schottenloher Jr, age 76, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 in Sebring, Florida. He was born on June 5, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Melvin G. and Elsye (Wittendorf) Schottenloher. Melvin owned and operated Mel’s Diner and started his own insurance agency, Bronson Business until his retirement in 2008. He was of Catholic faith, and has been a winter resident of Sebring for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and golfing. He never knew a stranger, and loved spending time with family. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years – Judith; his daughter Dawn Marie, along with his son-in-law John Wronikowski of Bronson, MI; and his sister – Cathie Montgomery of Elkhart, IN. His legacy lives on in his four grandchildren - Ashton, Preston, Arika and Landon.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Francis I Clubhouse on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 2 p.m. in Sebring. A secondary service will follow in Michigan at a later date.
