MEDFORD DOC THOMPSON Medford Doc Thompson, 80, of Lorida, FL, passed away at home, surrounded by his family on May 30, 2010. He was born July 7, 1929 in Colquitt County, Georgia and moved to Florida in 1960. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1950-1956 during the Korean War; retired from Mobil Chemical Company and then worked for and retired from IMC New Wales in 1994. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his son, James Michael Thompson; father, Walter Chance Thompson; mother, Julia Sloan Thompson and brother, J.D. Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Naomi Joyce Thompson; brother, Ernest Thompson; sister, Mildred Thompson; sons, Donnie (Jan) Thompson and David Thompson, both of Moultrie, GA; Randall Thompson, Lorida; Dana K. Thompson (Mark), Wellington and daughter, Vicki (Jose) Negron, Mulberry; grandchildren, Monica (Wayne) Marvin; Cheryl (Troy) Stinson; Jason (Kelly) Thompson; Mark (Ashley) Price; James Michael (Lori) Thompson, Jr; Scotty Thompson; Chris (Eve) Thompson; Joshua Thompson; Justin Jordan; Tiffany Thompson and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, Chaplain David Springer officiating.
