Maxine Davis Kelley

Maxine Davis Kelley, age 85, passed away on August 5, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on August 5, 1930 in Venus, Florida to the late Henry Hargrett and Mattie Ora (Nix) Davis. Maxine was a lifelong resident of Lake Placid and a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was the past Worthy Matron of Lake Placid Chapter #260 Order of the Eastern Star, a present member of Sebring Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Lake Placid Historical Society, United Daughters of the Confederacy and she served on the Lake Placid City Council and the Planning Advisory. Survivors include her husband, David C. "Pete" Kelley, Jr three daughters, Debra Kelley Elliott (Donald)-Lake Placid, FL; Kathy Kelley Garner (Terry)-Venice, FL and Kellie Kelley-Lake Placid, FL, two sisters-in-law: Carol Davis-Lake Placid, FL and Suzanne Davis-Australia, one cousin: Dorothy Bates (Donald), six grandchildren: Donna Garcia; Matt Elliott; Heidi Davis; Kelley Garner; Justin (Boots) Garner and Jessica Garner Heiny, eight great-grandchildren: Andee Garcia; Mattie Garcia; Riley Garner; Aynsley Davis; Tristan Davis; Molly Elliott; Scarlett Garner and Keegan Heiny, nieces: Stephanie Davis Underwood and Lynda Paul, nephews: Corbin Davis; Stephen Davis; John Davis; Michael Davis and Lonnie Hays. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Hayward Davis and John Wesley Alexander "Bud" Davis-Australia, sister: Flora Davis Hays, brother in-law: Ralph Leon Hays, sister in-law: Lattice Davis-Australia and nephew: Hargaret Davis. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, August 7 at Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on August 8 at the church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lake Placid, Florida.
