Maxine Cook, 71, of Frostproof, born on September 1, 1954, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025. Known for her warm heart, quick wit, and unforgettable laugh, Maxine brought joy and light to everyone who knew her.
Maxine had a deep love for the simple things in life—especially an ice-cold Pepsi and some good fried chicken. She was always ready with a joke or a funny story, and her laughter was contagious. Her sense of humor and strong spirit carried her and her family through life’s many ups and downs.
She is survived by two loving children Sherre Calhoun and Jeff Cook, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Margie Lynn, her mother Margie Jones, her brother Bruce Jones, and her beloved sister Jean Collins, all of whom she missed dearly.
Maxine’s legacy lives on in the laughter of her family, the stories they’ll keep telling, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
