Maureen Margaret Hecox

Maureen Margaret Hecox, age 76, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025 in Sebring, Florida.  She was born on November 10, 1948 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Bartholomeu W. and Frances M. (Basteri) LaVie.  Maureen had been a resident since 1986 coming from Ashby, MA and was a member of Bible Fellowship Church.  She loved to line dance and taught line dancing, which was also because of her love of music.  Maureen enjoyed going to the beach and Anna Maria was especially her favorite.  In her free time, she still liked to stay busy by doing projects, yardwork, etc.  Maureen was a very faithful and practicing Christian, taught Sunday School, and was a prayer warrior.  She was selfless and always put her children above herself.  She was supportive and sacrificing while teaching her children to be strong and stick with something until it is complete.  Maureen is survived by her Husband – James E. Hecox, of Sebring, FL; Daughter – Marcia Wilson (Daniel) of Sebring, FL; Son – Robert Hecox (Christine) of Okinawa, Japan; Sister – Margie Snowdon (Lou) of Tyngsboro, MA; and eight Grandchildren.  Her parents, her Son – William J. Hecox, and her Brothers - Ronald LaVie and James Lavie, all preceded her in death.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 2:00pm at Bible Fellowship.  The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00pm.
