Mary Nell Nolen

Mary Nell Nolen, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on December 15, 1931, in Haleyville, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Leo Bainett.

Mary moved to Highlands County, Florida, in 1973, where she made a loving home for her family and became a devoted member of the Lorida Baptist Church. Her faith and dedication to her church community were an integral part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Nolen, whom she loved deeply. Her son; Larry Nolen; daughter Ann Nolen; her daughter-in-law; Christine Nolen; her daughter; Barbara (Bobbie) Weeks; her granddaughter; Jessica Weeks; her son-in-law; Danny Weeks and her son; Elvis Nolen. Together, Mary and Buck raised a beautiful family that she nurtured with love and care throughout her life. Mary is survived by six children, each of whom carry forward her legacy of kindness and devotion: Bill Nolen of Lorida, FL; Mary Steele of Fort Myers, FL; Pam Talbot (Michael) of Tampa, FL; Cathy Repa (Paul) of Lorida, FL; Carol Lee (Jimmy) of Ocala, FL; and Dennis Nolen (Valane) of Michigan.

Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved attending auctions, where her keen eye and warm personality made each event a delight. She had a passion for gardening and created a beautiful rose garden. Above all, Mary cherished the time spent with her family, providing a constant source of love and support.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, located at 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL. Friends are invited to gather for the visitation at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Mary Nell Nolen will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and her joy, this will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
