MARY B. McALPINE Mary B. "May" McAlpine, 77, of Sebring, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, February 23, 2013. She was born on July 12, 1935, to James and Eliza (Bowman) Baxter in Clydebank, Scotland, and had been a resident of Sebring since 1997. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James; daughters, Sheelagh (David) Schurkamp and Wendy (Mark) Strassner; son, James (Carol) McAlpine; brother, James Baxter; grandchildren, David; Colby; Craig; Breann; Jay; Juliana; Gary and Katie and great-grandchildren, Lily; Thomas; Michael and Orion and many nieces and nephews. May enjoyed spending time with family and friends and helping others. She served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Amvets Post 21 (2005-2010); was a Life Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and attended First Presbyterian Church of Sebring. She loved to support local troops and veterans of Sebring. May lived life with a passion and her laughter and smile touched the lives of everyone she met. Mom, we will love you ALWAYS! A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Amvets Post 21, 623 U.S. Highway 27 South, Sebring.
