Mary Jane Kern

Mary Jane Kern, age 94, peacefully passed away on June 10, 2024, in Sebring, FL. She was born on October 26, 1929, in West Baden, IN to her loving parents, Thomas and Gertrude Burton. She has been a resident of Sebring since 1995.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Warren. She is survived by her children - Melinda Sue Lambert (Larry) of Plainfield, IN, Julie Lynn Gross of Sebring, FL, and Jeffrey Alan Kern (Tracie) of Ft. Myers, FL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

Mary Jane was a kind soul, known for her talents and her happy demeanor. She had a green thumb and a special gift for growing anything she touched. Her love for flowers and appreciation of their beauty brought her joy. A skilled seamstress, Mary Jane was renowned for her expertise in wedding dress alterations and tailored shirts. A great cook known for creating delectable dishes from scratch. Family holidays and dinners held a special place in her heart, as she poured her love into hosting and creating memorable moments for her loved ones.

Mary Jane was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and the Retired Teamster Auxiliary. Her presence in these organizations and her community was greatly valued.

Mary Jane Kern will be remembered for her love, talent, and fun-loving spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
