Mary Jane "Mae" Miller, age 89, passed away on Wednesday January 14, 2015 in Sebring, Florida. A South Boston, Massachusetts native, she was born on February 27, 1925 to the late Joseph and Margaret (Barone) Cangemi. She met and married Stephen Plunkett Coltharp III during WWII, and they settled in Paducah, KY, where their son Stephen, IV was born. Following the senior Coltharp's death in 1947, she moved to Miami, Florida where she met and married the late Arlo Byron "Jack" Hughes. They moved from Levitown, New York in 1956, and settled in Sebring with their three children, and operated a shopping guide and a dance studio, Mary Jane School of Dance. Mae was an active member of Bible Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters, and her husband of 20 years, Walter F. Miller, who passed away in 1990. Mae is survived by her children, Stephen P. (Sarah) Coltharp, III of Sebring, Florida, Linda Mae Hughes (Stuart) Todd of Athens, Georgia; Janice Helen Gosdin of Gainesville, Georgia; her twin sister, Josephine Fried of Thousand Oaks, CA, sisters, Nancy (Buddy) Karshman of Long Island, NY and Dorothy DiNoto of MA, along with brothers, Phillip Cangemi of South Weymouth, MA and Anthony Cangemi of Vancouver, WA, eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on February 1, 2015, 3:00pm, at Bible Fellowship Church, Sebring, FL with Reverend Todd Patterson officiating. In lieu of flowers, Mae asked that contributions be made to Bible Fellowship Church or to a favorite charity of one's choice.
