Mary Catherine Farmer

December 25, 1925 — August 18, 2022

Avon Park

Catherine Farmer of Avon Park, FL entered into eternal rest with Jesus on the morning of August 18, 2022. At 96 years old, Catherine had a full and successful life and was a member of the Greatest Generation. She was born on Christmas Day 1925 in Ludlow, KY to John and Mary Esther Warneke and was a proud Southerner. During World War II, she worked in a defense plant to support the war effort from home. She married her Husband – William Farmer – in 1946. The two dated and fell in love upon his return home from combat in Europe during World War II. They were married for 66 years until William’s passing in 2012.

Catherine loved her family deeply and she was a loving Mother to her 3 Children – Bill Farmer, Candice McDonald, and Melissa Koehlke. She was a beloved Grandmother to 7 Grandchildren and a Great Grandmother to 9. Family was everything to her and she led hers with grace and unconditional love. From birthday phone calls where she would sing Happy Birthday to you, to Christmas cards and handwritten letters, she always made each and every one of her family members feel loved.

Catherine’s life was built on her faith in Jesus Christ. She was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and held true to its teachings and observances. She was a spiritual role model and teacher to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The next time that she opens her eyes, she will see Jesus and hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her family takes refuge in the knowledge and hope that this is but a temporary goodbye and that we will all be reunited with her one day. Until that day, her legacy and memory will live on through her family who love and miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her Husband – William Farmer; Sister – Peggy Warneke; and Son – Bill Farmer. We look forward to the glorious day that is coming where we will all be together once more in a perfect place.
