Mary "Sue" Brown

Mary “Sue” Brown, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went to be with the Lord  on February 16, 2025 at the age of 88.  Sue was born in Shellman, GA to Lillie “Mae” and Pat Anthony.  She has one brother Earnest Newton Anthony of San Antonio, TX. She grew up in Dawson, GA and received her B.A. in Home Economics at the University of Georgia. She received her Masters degree from University of South Florida

Sue and Bill moved to Sebring, FL in 1969, where they raised two children, Karen and David.
After Sue graduated from the University of Georgia, she began her career of teaching, Home Economics and child care.  She was very instrumental in starting the Child Care and Development program at South Florida State College.  She was an active volunteer at Museum of Florida Art and Culture (MOFAC).

Sue is survived by her daughter, Karen Andrews of Sebring; her son, David Brown (Emily) of Merritt Island; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Lillie Mae and Pat and son-in-law, Tim.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL.  Visitation will precede the service starting at 10:00 a.m.  The burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
