Mary “Suzy” Angelina Wishard passed away on December 17, 2024, in Sebring, Florida, at the age of 81. Born on January 15, 1943, in Puerto Rico to the late Herman and Ada O’Brian, Suzy made Sebring her home in 2017 after many years in Centerville, Maryland.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Norman “Lee” Wishard, her children Courtney Safadi and husband, Sami of Connecticut, Darin Long and wife, Saparta of Texas, and Mark Wishard of Florida, her beloved sister, Carol Eroh, and her five treasured grandchildren. Her home was always filled with warmth, not only from her family but also her cherished pet dogs, whom she loved as family.
Suzy lived a life full of creativity, generosity, and vibrant joy. She delighted many as a recreational clown, “Glitzy,” known for her signature bright pink boa and sparkling tiara. A talented event planner, she used her creative skills to raise funds for various charitable causes, demonstrating her generous and compassionate nature.. She was also a gifted artist, making intricate ceramic dolls and pursuing arts and crafts projects with passion.
Suzy had a love for cooking and a heart for giving, always finding ways to help those in need. Her charitable spirit was reflected in her work with the Eastern Star and her dedication to causes like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A member of Faith Lutheran Church of Sebring, Suzy approached life with a positive outlook, bringing laughter and light wherever she went. She will be remembered for her fun-loving nature, thoughtful spirit, and deep devotion to her family, friends and dogs.
A memorial service to honor Suzy’s life will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, Florida. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Suzy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting her generous heart and enduring commitment to helping others.
Suzy will forever be remembered for her boundless creativity, her warm and giving nature, and her unshakable faith. She touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of love, inspiration and joy.
