Martha Bennett Hart

Martha Bennett Hart, age 89 passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Avon Park, Florida. She was born in Avon Park, Florida to Alexander Henderson and Mignyon Ruby (Lanier) Bennett. Mrs. Hart was a Cook for the Florida Alcoholic Treatment Center for 18 years, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, AARP, member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church and a generous contributor of her time and money to many church and community projects and a lifelong resident of Avon Park, Florida. Mrs. Hart is survived by her daughters-Pamela Mitchell (Danny) of Avon Park, Florida and Nancy Davis (Merlan) of North Port, Florida; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her husband-D.J. Hart; sons-Jimmy and Dennis Hart; brothers-Ray and Roy Bennett and a sister-Ruby Heim. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. (with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.) at Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with Rev. George Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church in care of Cornerstone Christian Academy.
