Martha E Cable Coy

Martha Etta Cable Coy, age 92, of Sebring, FL, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018.  She was born August 28, 1925 in Akron, Ohio to Russell W. and Mildred E. (Wade) Parker.  After retiring, Martha and her husband, George, moved to Florida in 1988.  She was a former member of the Young At Heart Red Hat group and a member of The Joy Club, and The Merry Widows.  Martha was very active in her subdivision where she was the heart and soul of the Friday night Hand and Foot card game.   Having been a bank teller, she liked to count money, so the job of selling the Fifty-Fifty tickets was her’s at all the events at the club house.  Before curbside recycling, she started a Saturday morning recycling club as a way for a group of ladies to go out for breakfast and help each other with the chore.  Martha was also a member of Sebring Christian Church where she helped count the collection.  Martha was known as a sweet, personable lady who never lost her temper.  She always put other people before herself.  When you wanted to know something, it was “call Martha.”  If she didn’t know the answer, she would help you find the answer.  She will be so sadly missed by her dear Friends at her subdivision.  We as her Step Children were given the honor of knowing and loving her for 20 years.  She will be so missed until we meet again.  Martha is survived by her Step-Children – Linda Prell (Bob) of Sebring, FL; Larry Coy (Evelyn) of Battle Creek, MI; Pat Rohacks of Dowagiac, MI; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her first husband of 53 years – George Cable; 2 daughters – Linda Jean and Nancy Lynn Cable; and second husband of 13 years – Russell Coy.  Memorial services will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Sebring Christian Church, 4514 Hammock Road, Sebring, FL.
