MARJORIE ELAINE MULLENS Marjorie Elaine Mullens escaped the bondage of Alzheimers on Mothers Day, Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Southern Lifestyle in Lake Placid, FL. Elaine was born in Greenville, MS on January 20, 1921 to Carter and Norma Knowles. She and her husband Archie moved from Greenville to Lake Placid in 1988, where they were active in the Placid Lakes community. Elaine loved flower gardening, playing the piano, singing old hymns and leisurely meals with friends. She attended Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid. Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Archie; daughter, Nancy Thompson and her husband, Nelson; son Michael and his wife, Ellen and four grandchildren; Hugh, Toby, Sean and Marianna. A service celebrating Elaines life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Southern Lifestyle, 1297 U.S. Highway 27 North, Lake Placid, FL 33852.
