Marilyn Mitzie Salberg

October 24, 1938 — January 14, 2018

Marilyn Mitzie Salberg passed away January 14, 2018. Marilyn was born and raised in the Bronx. She resided in Wappingers Falls, NY for over 30 years before retiring to Florida.  She was a loving wife and a devoted Mother and Grandmother. She saw the bright side of life and had a big heart and a caring soul. Marilyn touched the lives of all who knew her, and was admired for her kindness, courage, and amazing inner strength. She had a tremendous love of family and friends.  While residing in the Bronx, Marilyn worked in the Teacher Mom program at PS 89, nurturing kids with developmental challenges. Marilyn made her mark on Dutchess County, NY first in the Insurance business, and then in Real Estate.  Marilyn loved to travel. She traveled the world over including the United States, Europe, China, South America, and Africa. She also fancied herself an artist, and her paintings of birds brought smiles to those who received them. Marilyn loved word games, and was particularly good at SCRABBLE. Marilyn was a passionate volunteer with Reach for Recovery, We Care, and Tanglewood Cancer Support Group. She also belonged to several women’s groups.  She is survived by her husband (Sherman), sons (Howard & Glenn), her son’s spouses (Katie and Cynthia), grandchildren Micah (wife Donna), Carie, and Alexander, extended family, and many friends. She is predeceased by her brother Larry and his wife Ruth.  Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
