Marie Ann LaBozzetta Laurino, Ed.D.

Marie Ann LaBozzetta Laurino, Ed.D., 75, left this life just as she lived each day; with a smile on her face and surrounded by her family. She earned her angel wings on Friday, October 5, 2018. Marie was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 28, 1943 to Anthony and Genevieve (Hess) LaBozzetta. She is survived by her husband Emile and their four children, Marie Laurino-Bowman (Steven) of Niceville, Florida,  Charles Laurino (Theresa) of Montgomery, TX, Anthony Laurino (Brenna Miletich) of Cosby, TN and Joanne VanScoyk of New Port Richey, Florida. Marie also leaves behind her brother Michael LaBozzetta (Lucretia) of Sebring, FL, a sister Bertha Leone (Robert) of Del Mar, CA and is predeceased in death by her older sister, Elaine Altomare, of Solomons, MD.

Marie’s true love of 55 years was her husband Emile. Together, they enjoyed a lifetime of living on the water and most recently created their happy place at their Lake House in Sebring. They made their family the core of their existence.  Marie’s fun loving personality and creative nature never missed an opportunity to celebrate milestones with her 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 1/2 great-grandchildren. She shared her optimistic outlook and positive energy with everyone with whom she came in contact.

Through her passion and the courage of her professional convictions, Marie changed the lives of many Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Through her tenacity, Marie’s example continues to empower others to fight for that in which they believe.

RVing throughout the state was one of her passions. During the countless family RV trips, Marie enjoyed staying active and being outdoors. She took pride in her gardening and enjoyed taking long walks with her dogs.

Marie never met a stranger. Her energetic, fun loving presence attracted those who crossed her path.

Marie’s bigger than life presence and eclectic style will always be with those who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Cooley’s Anemia Foundation, 740 Smithtown Bypass, Suite 201, Smithtown, NY 11787 .
