MARIE BENITA DELPHIN Reflections on Mommys Life and Accolades: Marie Benita Delphin. Age 65, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 Wildwood, Florida She was born on August 25th 1946 in the beautiful Ville of Croix Des Bouquet, Haiti to Mariland and Victoria Docile. Marie Benita felt the call of God over her life at the age of 8, when in Haiti her Sunday school professors stood her up on a stool to preach. Growing up, she always acknowledged that she would eventually become a preacher or preachers wife. Ever since then, she has never stopped preaching and teaching. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at the early age of 6. Marie Benita had devoted her life to the high calling of God. In 1970, she was married in the Bahamas to now Reverend Etienne Exilas Delphin. Mr. and Mrs. Delphin were blessed with 5 wonderful children: Exilas Jr.(Alex), Judith, Rebecca, Ruben, and Brenda. After leaving the Bahamas with her husband, the calling on her life continued in Miami, FL at Bethany Baptist Church, where she played a key part of spreading the gospel and leading so many souls to Christ. She completed various seminary degrees at the New Orleans Baptist Seminary Extension which includes: Discipleship Ministries, Counseling, and Extensive Biblical Study. In 1987, Mrs. Delphin moved with her husband and 5 children to Lake Placid, FL where they began doing door to door ministry. She exemplified the life of a servant as she thoughtfully cared for all of those she met. Food was always prepared for those who attended the church services. She made sure that everyone she knew had the proper clothing to wear, so that no one had to suffer from the elements. When she found out that someone was sick, she was always more than ready to visit and pray with them; making sure that they had the proper medical attention that was needed. Mr. and Mrs. Delphin often took into their home many who needed shelter and a Godly place to live. She worked diligently and respectfully with her husband at the First Haitian Baptist Church of Avon Park for 22 years. Her years of service as: Sunday School Superintendent, Deaconess, Womens Ministry Director, Choir Director, Young adults/youths/kids overseer, Prayer warrior among many other positions, have been greatly appreciated and honored, but yet, will be deeply missed. On July 11th, 2012 Mr. and Mrs. Delphin renewed their 40th wedding vows. Mrs. Delphin was a remarkable: wife, mother, sister, best friend, and over all Christian. Mrs. Delphin will always be known for having the heart of Christ (the heart of a servant). She leaves behind three brothers- Jeremie, Caleb, Jean and one sister Sarah. She also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and her immediately family. She will be greatly missed on this earth, but we will all see her again in Glory. Her last message to our Church three weeks ago, First Haitian Baptist of Avon Park, was When I get to Heaven I will receive three crowns: the crown of Life (eternal), the crown of Glory, and the crown of Justice. Do all you can to live for Christ so that you too may receive these same crowns. Amen..Family will receive friends on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at The First Baptist Hatiian Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 starting at 10:00 AM at Union Congregational Church. Burial to follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery. Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home Avon Park, Florida
