Mariano Coll-Roche, aged 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 11, 2024, in Frostproof, Florida. He was born on July 10, 1937, in Yauco, Puerto Rico, to the late Pedro Coll-Vilella and Maria Edermira Roche.
Mariano is survived by his devoted wife, Andrea Perez Rodriguez, and his four loving children: Mariano Colls Jr., Maria D. Colls-Ureña, Haydee Larson, and Nestor L. Colls. He is also survived by his nine cherished grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shizue Colls-Senaha and daughter-in-law Valentina Colls.
A proud veteran, Mariano served in the United States Air Force and retired after a distinguished military career. He was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 32, where he found community and purpose in his post-military life.
Mariano was a man of many passions. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with his devoted dog, Skippy (a.k.a. Kippy), fishing, traveling, and watching his favorite westerns. Music and dancing brought him great happiness. He took pride in working on his farm, a testament to his strong work ethic and love for the outdoors. Above all, Mariano was a dedicated family man, known for his patience, enthusiasm, and boundless love for those around him.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, located at 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Good Shepherd Hospice , in honor of Mariano's life and memory.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those whose lives he touched.
