Maria M. Batz, age 58, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 in Lake Placid, Florida. She was born on April 21, 1956. She had been a resident of Highlands County since 1985 coming from Jasper, Florida. She was a member of Union Congregational Church in Avon Park. Maria was a retired Preschool Director and she loved taking care of children. She especially loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband: Kenneth Batz-Lake Placid, FL, children: Natalie Vause (Eric)-Orlando, FL; Nichole Rabell (Hansel)-Summerset, SD, step-children: Kevin Batz (Michelle)-WI; Kimberly Safranek (Eral)-GA; Loree Batz Olson-CA; ten grandchildren. Maria's celebration of life service will be held at Union Congregational Church in Avon Park on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 1:00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
