Margaret L. Turnbull, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in Avon Park, FL. She was born on August 1, 1932 in Avon Park, FL to the late Raleigh and Miriam (Woods) Lawhon. Margaret has been a lifelong resident of Avon Park, FL. She was a Board Member for the Highlands County School Board and a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Sebring, FL. Margaret is survived by her children: Sarah Snow (Claude) of Chapel Hill, NC; Patty Jackson (Clark) of Avon Park, FL; Janice Walker of Sebring, FL; Jim Turnbull (Teresa) of Sebring, FL; Raleigh Turnbull (Judy) of Avon Park, FL; Margaret Jane Johnson (Jim) of Melbourne, FL; Tommy Turnbull (Sara) of Sebring, FL; Nancy Cothran (Steve) of Greensboro, NC; Robert Turnbull (Dena) of Roswell, GA; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy Clark of Waco, TX; and Barbara Wicker of Avon Park, FL. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband: James P. Turnbull. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Avon Park, FL.
