MARGARET L. MCNEIL Margaret L. McNeil, age 85, of Avon Park, FL, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 20, 2012. She was born May 2, 1927 in Lakeland, FL to Edward H. and Lottie G. (Webb) Deeson. She was a Homemaker and has been a resident of Avon Park, FL since 1991, coming from Miami, FL. She is survived by her sons - eldest son & wife of Texas, Danny McNeil (Anna) of Avon Park, FL; Victor McNeil of Avon Park, FL; Daughter - Cathy Brown (Jerry) of Ft. Meade, FL; Grandchildren - Ken McNeil, Cassie Buckland, Johnny Lee McNeil, Marty McNeil, Margaret Sager, Stephen Brown, Gary McNeil, Kaitlyn McNeil; and 9 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband - John McNeil and a Son - Gary McNeil. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 6:30 PM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Avon Park with Pastor Eric Grenier officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:30 - 6:30 PM prior to the service. Interment will be on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Miami Memorial Park, Miami, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home in honor of Margaret L. McNeil for the great appreciation for the care she received as a child at the Kendall Children's Home (aka, Dade County Children's Home) in Miami. Her experience at KCH inspired her lifelong passion for children in need of loving homes. She and her late husband, John, provided foster care for numerous children from 1968-1981.
