Margaret E. Beatty

Margaret E. Beatty, age 95, of Avon Park, FL passed away peacefully on May 29, 2022. She was born on August 19, 1926 in rural Hardee County to Al and Dorothy (Dillard) Hough. She worked as a Secretary at Coker Fuel in Wauchula, FL and then at Hardee High School for 23 years.

She was a life-long member of Zolfo Springs Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a past President of the PTA at Zolfo Springs Elementary School. After her retirement, she worked hundreds of hours as a volunteer in her Daughter-in-Law’s (Cynthia Beatty) Kindergarten classroom.

She was preceded in death by her Husband of 62 years – Willis Beatty; Brothers – Calvin, Richard, and Ralf Hough; Sister – Suzie Polk; and Daughter-in-Law – Cynthia Beatty.

She is survived by her Daughter – Sharon Yoder (Albert) of Charlottesville, VA; Son – Larry Beatty of Sebring, FL; Grandsons – Brian Beatty (Michelle) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Jason Beatty (Kathleen) of Sebring, FL; and 6 Great-Grandchildren – Amelia, Mikayla, Pierce, Makenna, Finn, and Caroline; Sister Zella Warren (Vernon) of Wauchula, FL.

Viewing will be at Zolfo Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, June 4, 2022 beginning at 9:00 AM. Following the Viewing, a Graveside Service will be held at the Wauchula Cemetery beginning at 10:30 AM. Memorial donations may be made to Zolfo Springs Baptist Church or Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring, FL.
