Marcella M Moran

December 8, 1947 — July 4, 2020

Marcella M. Moran (Moore)

December 8, 1947 – July 4, 2020

Marcella Marie Moore Moran, (a/k/a Mom, Grammy (Grammie), Great Grammie), who so deeply and truly loved to spend time surrounded by “the Chaos” (a/k/a her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandc hildren), passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2020, after complications due to heart failure.

She was born in Endicott, NY on December 8, 1947 to George and Beverly Moore. She lived in Buffalo, NY as a child, where she met her husband, Thomas D. Moran, III.  They eventually moved their family to Florida, settling first in Orange Park, FL, and then finally in Sebring, FL, where she lived at the time of her death.

She is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Thomas D. Moran, III of Sebring, FL, her son Thomas D. Moran, IV (Kimberly) of Sebring, FL, her daughters Suzanne M.VanLeeuwen (Steven) of Orange Park, FL, and Charlene A. Carter (Travis) of Ft. Pierce, FL, 9 Siblings, 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and her younger sister Donna, she was preceded in death by her infant Great Grandson Mark Walters (2018).

Marcella, the oldest of 11 children, graduated high school at age 17, moved out and began life on her own. Shortly thereafter she married her husband, Tom, and they began their own small family that has blossomed into a very large, very loving family. She was a homemaker for most of her life, except for the years she worked as a legal secretary, and as a merchandiser for several companies. Marcella’s favorite pastime was cooking, baking and feeding people (and oh how she could cook)! She incorporated her favorite prayer (from the Big Bang Theory) into that pastime: “By His hands we are all fed, Give us Lord our daily bread, Please know that we are truly grateful, for every cup and every plateful. ~Amen.” She loved the holidays, especially the ones that would allow her to cook meals big enough to feed an army, served in her amazingly beautiful (and incredibly large) collection of Temp-tations dishes (oh how she loved her Temp-tations), and surrounded by the sounds of her loved ones talking (often loudly), laughing hysterically, playing, bantering, bickering, teasing and thoroughly enjoying each other’s company (all of which she called “the Chaos”). There was very little she enjoyed more than the Chaos. To some, she was known as “the Cookie Lady,” because, as all of her family and friends knew, you simply could never get enough of Grammy’s (Grammie’s) amazing sugar cookies (sometimes shaped into things that would make you blush – oh how she loved making us giggle and blush). Each Christmas, we all waited impatiently for our coveted tin filled with Grammy’s (Grammie’s) sugar cookies, and if you got one, you hid it. Of course, she also held the coveted title of “Princess Marcella” when she played dress-up with her grandkids. She may have been a Princess in playtime, but in real life, she was our Queen, and there will never be a day or moment that will be the same without her in it. She was incredibly kind, unbelievably tough, and would do anything to help you if she could. She never met a stranger, and her hugs were second to none. We are grateful that her pain and suffering has ended, that her body is whole once again, and that she is feasting with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be truly and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
