Luella Catherine "Cathy" Russell

Luella Catherine “Cathy” Russell, 80, of Sebring, Florida, passed away on July 28, 2023, in her home with her beloved husband Joseph (Joe) Russell by her side. Cathy was born on March 13, 1943, to Francis and Walter Sands in Kansas City, Kansas. After Cathy graduated from Washington High School in 1961, she went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Cathy worked at several physician offices in Springfield, Missouri for 20 years. Cathy and Joe married in 1985 and resided in Springfield, Missouri for 28 years before retiring in sunny Naples, Florida in 2018. In 2020 Joe and Cathy moved to Sebring, Florida. Cathy enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and collecting figurines. On Sunday afternoons, you could always find Cathy glued to the tv, cheering for her Kansas City, Chiefs, and texting game updates to her children and grandchildren. Pets have always been a valuable part of Cathy’s family, and her dog Molly will sadly miss her. Cathy is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob Sands (Georgia) Cathy is survived by her loving husband Joe, her brother James Sands (Nancy), and her sister Lynda Logan. Cathy’s daughters are Gayle Herschell and Sheryl Krzanowsky (Paul) of Lawrence, Kansas, and Erin Brando (James) of Kearney, Missouri. Cathy’s sons are Terry Morphis (Penn) of Murrietta, California, and Daniel Morphis (Mel) of Eugene, Oregon. She leaves behind thirteen grandchildren: Christine (Joe), Andy (Dyana), Michael, Josh, Stephen (Brianna), Samantha (Kory), Maggie, Dawn, Kyle, Siri, Demi (Jon), Cameron, and Maria. As well as ten great-grandchildren: Garet, Tinsley, Lydia, Eleanor, Joziah, Ezrah, Ian, Briella, Kenzie, and Madison. Per Cathy’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
