Louise Crum

Louise Crum, a longtime resident of Sebring, Florida, will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring friend whose life was characterized by her commitment to the people she loved. Louise was born on July 21, 1931, to Barbara and Henry Yaeger and was one of ten children. She was raised in Queens, New York, where she spent her early years before eventually making Florida her home. Louise married James Robert Crum, with whom she built a life centered around their family. She devoted herself to being a full-time homemaker and mother to their three children: Dr. Susan Crum, a licensed psychologist; James Kenneth Crum, who preceded her in death at the young age of 20; and Bruce Crum, a retired Sebring Police Officer. Louise and her family settled in Sebring in 1982, and she remained a resident of the community for more than four decades. Perhaps no aspect of Louise’s life better demonstrated the depth of her love and devotion than the 24 years she spent caring for her husband during his illness. She remained steadfastly by his side as his caregiver until his death. Following his passing more than 20 years ago, Louise continued to live independently in Sebring. Louise knew both the joys of family life and the profound sorrow of losing a son and, later, her husband. Through these experiences, she remained a caring and devoted woman who valued her relationships deeply. She loved her family and friends wholeheartedly and gave generously of herself to those she cared about. Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Robert Crum, and her son, James Kenneth Crum. She leaves behind her daughter, Dr. Susan Crum, and her son, Bruce Crum, along with the extended family whose lives were enriched by knowing her. Louise’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, perseverance, and devotion. She will be remembered not for grand accomplishments or public recognition, but for something far more enduring: a lifetime spent caring for the people she loved.Her family will carry her memory forward with gratitude for her life, her sacrifices, her strength, and, above all, the unconditional love she gave so freely. A graveside service will be held Saturday August 15, 2026, at 1 pm at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
