Lorraine Lightsey Polk

Lorraine Lightsey Polk, age 75, of Bereah, Florida, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017.  She was born November 29, 1942 in Avon Park, FL to Jack and Edith (Brewer) Lightsey.  She worked as a Secretary, was a member of the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church, and has been a lifelong resident of this area.  She is survived by her Sons – Howard Polk of Avon Park, FL; Bobby Polk (Linda) of Haines City, FL; Glenn Polk of Daytona Beach, FL; Daughter – Rebecca Polk Acosta (Chris) of Sebring, FL; Sisters – Jo Barnes of Bereah, FL; Sandra Streule (Kevin) Sebring, FL; Brothers – Clifford Lightsey (Delcie) of Frostproof, FL; Roger Lightsey of Bereah, FL; 8 Grandchildren-Jack (Holly), Robbie, Jedd, Danielle, Christina, Jonathon, Emma, Nicholas; and 4 Great Grandchildren – Jackson, Aletrus, Raylee, and Max.  She was preceded in death by her Husband – Rev. R.L. Polk.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church with Rev. George Hall and Rev. Mike Adams officiating.  Interment will follow in the Corinth Cemetery, Bereah, FL.  Family will receive friends at a visitation on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home of Avon Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church Building Fund.
