It is with deep sadness that the Littlehale, Woods and Shea families announce the passing of Loretta “Laurie” Ann Littlehale (Woods). Lauri passed “over the rainbow”, as she preferred to say, on Wednesday January 28, 2026.

Laurie was born on January 10, 1946, to her mother Frances (Dolan) and Robert Littlehale. Robert and Frances would later get divorced. Frances would marry again to John Woods of Windsor CT. John would adopt Laurie and raise her as his own daughter. The Woods’ resided in West Suffield CT.

Laurie would marry Richard A. Shea of Windsor, CT. The Shea’s had two children, Richard E. and Kristin E. Shea.

Among Laurie’s passions was a love for creativity. Laurie was an accomplished painter, working primarily in watercolors. She moved from that to photography, basket weaving with pine needles, and stained glass. Her most notable painting was that of a seascape. That painting was prominently displayed in the front entry of the Ramada Inn Restaurant in Windsor Locks CT for many years.

Laurie also had a love for outer space. At her home in Florida, she frequently watched rockets lifting of from Cape Canaveral.

One of her most memorable life accomplishments was becoming an Emergency Medical Technician. She was one of the founding members of the East Granby Volunteer Ambulance Association. Laurie was known for her calm demeanor and the warm passionate care for her patients.

Laurie is survived by her son Richard, his wife Rachel and their daughter Kaela of Windsor, CT. On the Woods side of her family, she is survived by her sisters Frances Leonard of Suffield, CT, sister Dianne Minukas of Somers, CT., sister Suzanne Ucci of Orange, CT., and brother John Woods of West Suffield, CT.

On the Littlehale side she is survived by her brother Robert Littlehale of Iowa City, Iowa, and sister Leslie Poisson Littlehale of Salem, MA.

Laurie is predeceased by her mother Frances, adoptive father John, biological father Robert and her daughter Kristin.

There will be “Celebration of Life” ceremonies in both Florida and Connecticut. Dates for those ceremonies are to be determined.
