LORENA MAE YORK Lorna Mae York, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in Avon Park, FL. She was born in Barnwell, Alabama on March 20, 1926 to Wesley W. and Arcturus M. (Lipscomb) Bishop. She was a homemaker, attended Heartland Christian Church, was a school bus driver for Highlands County for 10 years and was a resident of Sebring since 1983 coming from Louisville, Kentucky. She is survived by her sons Donald F. York of Spring, Texas and Jim R. York of Gainesville, Florida; sisters, Vera Richardson, Brooksville, FL, Francis Swainey, Hope Mill, NC, Ann Fatjo, Pembroke Pines, FL, Barbara Greene, Valdosta, GA, Florence Fell, Fairhhope Al; and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. York; son, Barry D. York; sisters, Grace Booth and Erma Campbell. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Ted Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
