Loraine A. Parks

Loraine Agnes (Drotar) Parks, age 85, of Lake Placid, FL, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016. She was born June 18, 1931 to Joseph Drotar and Katherine V. (Shepler) Drotar in Fowler Township, Ohio.  With a bright smile and outgoing personality, Loraine enjoyed talking with everyone. She was a caring wife, devoted mother and proud grandma. A homemaker with occasional work outside the home, Loraine loved cooking, was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Church, and was a resident of Highlands County since 1968.  Loraine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kate (Parks) Parton and Gaylon Parton of Miami, FL; her son and daughter-in-law Kenneth M. and Tami Spate of Hodges, SC; stepsons John Timothy Parks and Samuel Hugh Parks; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her faithful husband of 36 years, Benjamin Reed Parks of Lake Placid, FL; elder sister Katherine (Kass) and her elder brother Joseph, and stepson Thomas George Parks. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Lake Placid, FL.  The family sincerely thanks everyone for their heartfelt condolences during this difficult time and requests in lieu of flowers or other remembrances, memorial contributions be made to the Fowler High School Alumni Assn.
