Lois M. Bixby

LOIS M. BIXBY Lois M. Bixby, 89, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011, in Sebring. She was born October 24, 1922, to John L. and Cora (Davis) Bixby in Basswood, Minnesota and had worked with SIM for 36 years in Ethiopia as a missionary/school teacher and writing religious literature and curriculum. She retired in 1987 and lived in the SIM Retirement Village in Carlsbad, California until moving to Sebring SIM Retirement Village in 2007. She attended Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sebring. She is survived by her sisters, June Emmert, Rockville, Maryland and Janice Vance, Roseville, Minnesota; brother, Paul Bixby, State College, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Siemers. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the SIM Chapel in Sebring with Rev. Darrell Arnold officiating. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to SIM Ethiopia, 4114 Nigeria Rd., Sebring, FL 33875.
